In this series I will be attempting to become an associate android developer, a certifcation offered by Google.

My android development history

I have always found mobile development interesting because of the “instant reward” that you get. In my honours year at university, I elected to do Mobile Programming module - we just learnt the basics - it was quite simple. I made a simple game similar to flappy bird for the modules practical assessment. Unfortunately, I do not have screenshots of it to share.

Six months into working I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to work on a micro-investment android application called Stash. In the beginning, it was a huge learning curve, but as I started to grasp the Android concepts better, it became more challenging and exciting because I had a better understanding of how to approach problems. Although I have learnt a lot on Stash, I feel that there is so much more to learn. Therefore, I have challenged myself to acquire the certification.

I will be going over every section from the exam content tab in preparation for the exam.
