About
I am an ambitious 25-year-old software developer from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Since my graduation in 2015 and winning an award for Best Honours Project, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to be part of a prestigious software development organisation like Entelect. Entelect prides itself on their mentoring facilitation and Bootcamp - where we are tested to the best of our knowledge and capabilities to prove our technical and presentation skills and most importantly, to demonstrate that we can work effectively in a team.
On completion of Bootcamp, I was based at mHealthCo, where we developed a TB Rewards-based program for people living in rural areas. This program was written in NodeJs and MongoDB.
After mHealthCo, I was given the opportunity to work at Liberty Group, assigned to a project called Stash. Stash, which is a mobile App, is a micro-investments platform designed to encourage millennials to start saving via investments. During the MVP phase, we delivered the Android app written in Java. After that, I began contributing to the backend of the project, which involved a REST API written in C# and SQL. Stash then developed a demand for an iOS App which was met with the App written in Swift.
I have been on this project for the past two years. In this time, I have grown from strength to strength in my technical ability. Using the Agile methodology, we have been accustomed to providing small chunks of useful software that address value-added features. In technology, there is no endpoint to learning, and as I progress further into my career, my ambition and vigour for learning grows. I aim to add value to all my projects and any organisation, with a conviction that I will always uphold organisational etiquette and present my best self in the times to come.
